A Storm is Coming...

I glanced down at the table, and found myself staring at my reflection; though it was blurred with finger prints from the children...my heart was somewhere far from where I sat. Time continued to strain forward. I sat with a teary gaze... at that moment I knew I needed to get out of my head.

I was in a dangerous place filled with destructive thoughts that I knew would lead to the storm I was not yet ready to fight. Why do I constantly find myself in this place of isolation? I should be overjoyed as I have more than most. “Mom, she cried! I’m hungry ...can you make me some dinner? Mommm where are you?”

That question resounded through the dry air, and the tears began to stream down my cheeks onto the table…muddling my reflection even more.

Is this you, woman of faith? Can you relate? Are you able to recognize the storm brewing within the atmosphere...lodging beneath your flesh, confusing your normalcy with discontentment, and a surge of overwhelming emotion?

All of this leads you to wonder, why does this hurt so much? Is this even the storm? I thought that if I was going to experience a storm it would be something more assertive, like death ...or adultery. But this ...this right here…..I didn’t see brewing. This storm I was not prepared to fight.

Please understand that the enemy wants to conquer you on your own terrain including: your home, your job, your self-worth, your identity, your church, your friendships, your children ...and your spouse. He is coming for blood, but you must realize that you’re not without defense!

God is here to rescue you from the doubtful moments that cripple you from moving forward. He is able to dissolve the anxiety, insistent worries, and intense moments of depression. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18).

I know the weight is great ...don't let the enemy make you feel... less than... during this time.

Let go of pride, and seek help; seek godly counsel within a small group, mentor, or a Christian friend. Leave a comment below with your prayer request. Isolation is not the answer, nor is becoming frozen by the attack of the enemy. Get dressed every morning with the full armor of God, and fight on your knees. Let them be bloody from constant prayer. Prayer is your life line, and your communication with the Father, you can’t win without it.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

(Ephesians 6:10-18).

I say to you today... wipe those tears Woman of Faith, and know that you are more than a conqueror. You are a daughter of the living God, mount up...and don’t succumb to the ploys of the enemy. You are beautiful, you are worth it, you are an heir to the throne of grace.

God saved you knowing all parts of you...the good, and the bad. He still says yes ...you are my daughter, and I love you. Stop wallowing, stop sulking ...stop comparing…and simply have faith. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Not now…… not ever. He's calling you to spend time in prayer today, and lay at his feet. Rest in the arms of the Father.
